The moulded felt panels were designed as a solution to controlling sound levels in an enclosed space whilst providing a decorative or symbolic addition to the interior. A potential commercial product, the panels are designed for use in restaurants, offices, clubs and foyers where sound may need to be reduced. Constructed out of felt and buckram, and or acrylic and flock, the materials are pressed into a mould to produce various patterns. There will be four various densities available. (Pianissimo, piano, forte and fortissimo). Pianissimo being the most sound absorbent and fortissimo being the least sound absorbent. The panels can be custom designed and made to any specified size. Research is currently being undertaken to find a recyclable material for future production.
