POWERHOUSE MUSEUM
The Powerhouse Museum has been collecting and exhibiting design, alongside science, technology, industry and social history, for over 125 years, and is Australia's only museum of design. The Powerhouse is also in the unique position of being the only museum in the world to produce an international design festival. It follows naturally that the museum is committed to fostering home-grown talent. This year the museum takes a bold new step in co-presenting Workshopped . We have no doubt that the fresh and innovative work of designers such as those on show in Workshopped 07 will one day be found in the museum's design collection.

Following three fantastic exhibitions at The Strand and one at Chifley Plaza last year, the decision was taken to relocate it to QVB this year to allow more space for the growing number of exhibitors. Design is really important to BA because it helps us innovate new products and services and continue to please our customers. We take a total design approach to what we do including all stakeholders in the process from brief through to delivery. On every project, we'll involve customers along the design journey too, to make sure that we're developing the design in tune with what they want. This mixture has created some award-winning and novel solutions, such as the Club World flat bed which we launched in 2000. Design for aircraft has evolved from being very aesthetic-led [60's] to a highly functional period [80's]. Today, we are trying to blend these two classic requirements together within the tight constraints of the airline industry and offering customers products that look good and fulfil the traveller's needs.
