Exhibit Name: Bundle Lamp
Design Intent: The lamp is an exploration into designing a dynamic sculptural form that can be produced easily and uses sustainable, environmentally sensitive materials
Description: The Bundle Lamp in both timber and bamboo, is a collection of 'sticks', throwing a distinct ambient light. The sculptural form both flat packs and can be adjusted to splay to ones desired proportions, giving the object a varying appearance and light distribution.
Production: Easily produced in multiples, would best suit short runs of 50 - 100 units but lends itself to outsourcing to mass production.
Market: Primarily a contemporary, designer home wares, market. The piece also has market potential as a feature piece for hotel / corporate foyers, boardrooms etc.
You should know: I have been a contemporary furniture designer maker for nearly 20 years. I have exhibited and sold work nationally and internationally. I have undertaken numerous international residencies and have given lectures about my work at many major institutions as well as having taught design and furniture making classes. For the last 10 years I co-owned and ran the successful furniture design workshop Trout Design and have recently been contracted as the leading hand furniture maker at Parliament House in Canberra.
