Exhibit Name: BW daybed
Design Intent: To provide a simple multi-functional piece that can tailored to suit the consumer's décor and taste
Description: A sleek, low line daybed with a beautiful New Guinea rosewood frame. The leg understructure is made from a polished aluminum torsion box with a rosewood detail. This is complimented by a deep buttoned, upholstered, high density mattress.
Production: This piece will be made to customer specification of the timber frame (species used) and upholstery fabric. To enable a prompt response to this order some components such as the legs, internal hardwood frame, and mattress will be machined and assembled in a larger quantity ready for individual customisation .
Market: The cliental of a BW daybed would appreciate its design, quality construction and finishing.
You should know: That I am a designer/ maker based in Mittagong, NSW where I am a part of the 4wood co-operative. I have studied an trained at the Sturt School for Wood and the Southern Sydney Institute of TAFE. In the last two years I have designed and manufactured numerous commission pieces. I also repair and restore Danish furniture for one of Sydney and Melbourne's pre-eminent mid 20 th century furniture dealers. This is my first submission for WORKSHOPPED.
